Plot Summary: Doug is filled with confusion as he listens to Rachel reading aloud, finding brief relief—just for a moment. Then he urges Rachel to quickly take Lisa away, insisting he never wants to see her again. At that moment, a man in black enters Claire's residence carrying a package of explosives. Frank is still away, attending an emergency meeting, and the situation rapidly escalates into high tension. The man is revealed to be a former Marine Corps general whose wife had an abortion after Claire exposed the truth last week. Bitter and vengeful, the general sets his sights on Claire. Adam’s scandal has damaged Claire’s image, and now she faces the immediate threat of assassination. Fortunately, she is protected by her security officer, Meechum, and comforted by Frank’s presence, which eases her anxiety slightly. Beyond worrying about Claire, Frank is also deeply concerned about Raymond and eager to eliminate him before he can interfere further. Seth uses Ella to investigate Raymond’s connection with Feng, providing her with clues that successfully link all the pieces together. This investigation takes only three days—compared to Doug’s three months—further eroding Frank’s trust in Doug. At this time, Frank also learns that Jackie has been sleeping with rival faction leader Remy. Ella’s investigation proceeds smoothly, uncovering key links between Raymond, Feng, and the casino. She plans to publish the story, but the newspaper hesitates due to conflicting interests. Frank and Claire stand united through adversity. Watching old videos together, they reflect on their journey—the hardships and joys—reinforcing their bond and strengthening their resolve to face future challenges. After learning about Jackie’s affair with Remy, Frank calls her in and tells her that pushing the co-sponsorship bill through voting is now essential. As she leaves, he reveals he knows about her relationship with Remy, shocking her. She is stunned to learn that her own secretary, Nancy, was actually Frank’s spy. The President confronts Frank over funding issues, questioning him about the bridge project and the matters involving Feng and Raymond. No matter what Frank does, he cannot extricate himself from the situation. He tells the President the only option is to keep delaying.
