Plot Summary: Amidst the midterm elections, Claire is busy campaigning. In her speeches, she frequently accuses a certain interest group of trying to harm her, simply because she is a woman. She also points out that the app developed by this group spies on phones, infringes on privacy, and manipulates votes. However, the hearing for this app has been repeatedly delayed due to obstruction from some congressmen, which Claire is very unhappy about. She claims she will arrest the relevant congressmen. If federal prosecutors do not agree to prosecute, she will replace them too. At this time, Bill is in a bind, his personal assets frozen, and even the congressmen who used to support him want to distance themselves. The most anxious is Congressman Cole, who truly doesn't want to take the blame for the trouble caused by young Duncan. Annette tells Cole to be patient; after the midterm elections, with a majority in the Senate, they will control the Department of Justice, and Duncan's hearing will naturally fade away. In addition, Annette has completed the formal adoption process. In the future, Duncan will be eligible to inherit the entire Shepherd Group. At some point, a series of topics attacking Frank appeared online. Investigations revealed that it was the work of a Russian troll farm. Petrov helped Claire solve this problem, but Claire suddenly experienced contractions. A hospital examination found that her former attending physician had used oxytocin. After emergency treatment, the fetus was saved, and Claire suspected Annette was behind it. Nathan's investigation shows that Annette has not stopped. Since Doug's unsuccessful threat to Claire in the Oval Office, the hiding Doug has often been in contact with Shepherd. The fence-sitter Seth revealed that Doug only contacts them by phone, and his sporadic remarks are all from Frank's diaries. Claire was shocked and searched the entire Oval Office, indeed finding a secret compartment under a drawer, from which things had already been taken. Without delay, Claire summoned Congressman Cole to the White House. She doesn't plan to use his affair against him, but using the app to manipulate elections is an act of treason, and any congressmen who used the app will be arrested. If Cole doesn't cooperate, he will also be among those arrested. As Cole hesitated, Claire showed him a clear path. By exposing to the media that recently nominated Supreme Court Justice Vincent made a biased ruling for a lakeside villa, Congress will initiate impeachment proceedings. Bill's plant in the Supreme Court was removed. Due to the loss of judicial protection, Duncan was taken away for investigation by the FBI on the spot while defending the app in the media, immediately becoming big news. Everyone who had used the app began to distance themselves from Annette, Duncan, and the Shepherd family. Melody, who had strongly advocated for Shepherd, also defected, extending an olive branch to Claire with a mild interview, becoming Claire's mouthpiece. At the Shepherd Group board meeting, Bill had already made a plan. The best solution currently is that after Claire's death, due to the vacant Vice President position, Speaker Cole would take over. He also hired people to build models to estimate the financial losses that could result from economic fluctuations caused by a presidential assassination. Annette wants Claire to become a martyr protecting her fetus, with everlasting honor but no more life. Claire, unaware of the potential danger, used Melody to start criticizing Frank on television, selectively revealing Frank's actions. She wanted to strike first and challenge Doug.
