Plot Summary: Jimmy hesitated for a moment across the street, but couldn't resist the bond of kinship. He rushed into the copy shop, yelling for the bewildered clerk to call an ambulance, while he himself frantically turned off the lights and unplugged the copier. Charles was quickly taken to the hospital, but the glaring fluorescent lights above, the electrodes on his chest, and the constantly beeping heart monitor by his bed were torture for him. Hearing the emergency doctor order an MRI, Charles protested weakly against the inhumane treatment, which only made the doctor suspect brain damage. Fortunately, Jimmy brought in the doctor who had previously dealt with Charles's "electromagnetic hypersensitivity" (as seen in Season 1, Episode 5), preventing Charles from having a complete breakdown. But this time was different; Charles had been unconscious for about a minute in the copy shop, and he needed to be checked for heart problems or a minor stroke, as well as any damage to his cervical spine and brain. Since Charles refused the examination himself, Jimmy had to apply for temporary emergency guardianship and consent to Charles's hospitalization. Jimmy knew Charles's aversion to hospitals, but he could only accept the doctor's advice. When Jimmy entered the ward, Charles was hostile. Seeing Jimmy, his first reaction was that Jimmy must have been nearby to arrive at the copy shop so quickly. This thought immediately led him to believe that Jimmy had bribed the clerk, which was why the clerk changed his story. Ernesto, who was nearby, suddenly spoke up, saying that he had informed Jimmy when he left the copy shop to pick up Charles. At this, Charles quieted down. Ernesto, as Jimmy's friend, didn't want the brothers to reach a point of no return. But that was all he could do; the rest was up to Jimmy. To stabilize Charles's emotions, the doctor injected him with a small amount of sedative before the MRI. If the emergency room treatment was torture, lying in the MRI machine made Charles feel like he was in hell, being burned by fire. So much so that hours after the examination, he was still in an unresponsive state. The doctor determined he had entered a self-induced stress state and would need some time to recover. While Charles was hospitalized, Mike implemented his plan to assassinate Hector. He bought a suitable sniper rifle from an underground arms dealer and precisely adjusted the scope. He also tracked Nacho's van and found the location where Hector planned to interrogate the driver. This small hut deep in the desert, surrounded by rolling hills, provided both cover and an excellent ambush spot for Mike. Mike drove to the other side of the hills, then hiked up with his sniper rifle, quietly waiting for Hector to appear. Through the scope, Mike saw Hector's men digging a grave. Soon, the driver was dragged out of the hut, wailing, followed by Hector and Nacho, who watched the other two torture the poor driver. Mike aimed the crosshairs at Hector's head, but Nacho always seemed to unintentionally block the line of sight between Mike and Hector. Mike never found a suitable moment until the driver was shot and thrown into the grave, only able to watch Hector walk back into the hut. As Mike was contemplating his next move, he heard a car horn behind him. He pulled out his pistol and jogged to his car. A branch was wedged in the steering wheel, and someone had left a note on the windshield that read, "Don 't do it," but no one was around. Who wanted to save Hector? Was it Nacho, or someone else? Why didn't they kill Mike from behind, but only issue a warning ? These were all questions Mike couldn 't answer. In the hospital, Charles finally regained consciousness. The examination results concluded that Charles had no physical problems; his unconsciousness was caused by a mild concussion and was no longer serious. Jimmy rushed Charles home, but he also sensed that he wasn't welcome. After settling Charles in , he discreetly left.Jimmy thought that after all Charles had been through, he wouldn 't still be thinking about investigating the altered documents. This only showed that Jimmy underestimated Charles's perseverance;Charles had already devised a plan while in the hospital bed.As soon as Jimmy left, Charles began preparing to clear his name.Charles, wrapped in a space blanket and carrying an oil lamp, went into the garage he hadn 't used in almost two years. It was filled with discarded appliances. From a cardboard box, he pulled out a tape recorder. A few days later, Howard called Jimmy, fuming, suspecting that Jimmy had instigated Charles's resignation.Jimmy didn 't know what had happened; how could Charles, who was always so proud of his legal profession, bring himself to resign? He rushed to Charles's house, forced open the door, and found Charles seriously ill.The entire interior of the house, from ceiling to walls to floor, was covered with space blankets made of metallic film.Charles was finishing the last small area, covering the French doors leading to the backyard with a space blanket.Jimmy quickly tried to stop Charles, who seemed to be in despair, rambling about making mistakes and how external electromagnetic radiation had affected his brain, making him unfit to be a qualified lawyer.Seeing his brother 's depressed expression, Jimmy gritted his teeth, unable to bear it, and confessed that he had tampered with things. Everything was as Charles had suspected: he had altered the address at the copy shop and then bribed the clerk. Jimmy said these things to help Charles regain his confidence. And it was just Jimmy and Charles there, so even if Charles told someone, there would be no proof. Seeing Charles's demeanor soften, Jimmy rushed out of the house to tell Howard the good news. But he didn 't see Charles push aside a few space blankets haphazardly piled on the coffee table, revealing a running tape recorder underneath.
